This is a  recording of Ustad Zakir Hussain explaining about Peshkar, Kaydas, how the Kaydas were blend into various Tabla gharanas ( Delhi, Lukhnow, Farukhabadi, Punjab..), how the Rela might have found their place in the Tabla universe and so on.

There is nothing that needs to be said about Ustad’s Tabla but equally fascinating is his way of explaining. You can feel the passion flowing when he talks about his beloved craft. Undoubtedly a treasure for Tabla enthusiasts.
